After nearly a year of preview testing, Microsoft officially launched the Microsoft Designer application on Apple iOS and Google Android platforms, allowing iPhone and Android mobile phone users to experience AI retouching and other functions.

Edit images with AI: take control of your photos and images and make them perfect with AI. With a single tap, Designer helps you:

o Remove background: select & erase background of your photo.

o Blur background: select & blur background of your photo.

o Resize your image as needed to directly share your image to social media platforms.

Microsoft Designer function

The main page of the Designer App is very simple. The main menu includes "Home Page" and "My Project", the latter of which contains all the historical creation records of the user; The home page is mainly divided into shortcut columns using AI to create, including pictures, stickers, wallpapers, invitations, virtual figures, art words, etc. Photos can also be background blurred and removed, as well as fully custom creations.

In the free version, for example, the top right corner of the App shows the number of free creations per day (the number next to the coins). For more times and advanced features, you'll need to subscribe to Copilot Pro, which includes priority access to GPT-4 / Turbo during busy hours.

What's new

This latest update introduces a revamped Designer app homepage, making it easier to browse features. Ready-to-use prompt templates are now available to help spark creativity for your next design—select a design you like and change some of the details to customize it. Designing from scratch is easier too. Choose what you want to create (like an Instagram story, for example), or enter in custom dimensions to get started.
