Google Pay is a digital wallet developed by Google, allowing users to make online and in-store purchases, send and receive money, and manage their loyalty cards and gift cards. It was formerly known as Android Pay before being rebranded in 2018.

With Google Pay, users can store multiple payment methods, such as credit and debit cards, bank accounts, and even loyalty points from various retailers. To use Google Pay, users need to have a compatible Android device with NFC (Near Field Communication) capabilities.

How does Google Pay work

1.Make payments: Users can make payments at millions of online and in-store locations that accept contactless payments. To pay in stores, users simply tap their device on the terminal or place it near the terminal to complete the transaction.

2.Send and receive money: Google Pay allows users to send and receive money to and from friends and family. Users can easily split bills, share expenses, or send money as a gift.

3.Manage loyalty cards and gift cards: Google Pay can store loyalty cards from various retailers, allowing users to check their balances, redeem rewards, and earn points directly from their device. It also supports gift cards, which users can manage and use at participating retailers.

4.Save and organize cards: Users can save their credit, debit, and gift cards in Google Pay, making it easy to access and manage their payment methods.

5.Checkout across devices: Google Pay offers a seamless checkout experience across Android and Google Chrome, allowing users to pay for their purchases quickly and securely on their phone, tablet, or computer.

6. Security and privacy: Google Pay uses advanced security technology to protect users' payment information. It encrypts card details and stores them securely in a dedicated, secure space on the user's device.
